Bridle

A bridle, also known as a witch's mask, is a historical instrument of punishment that was used to prevent people from speaking. Originally, it was used as punishment for so-called slanderers, gossips, or people who were considered troublesome, disobedient, or seditious. In modern BDSM contexts, the bridle has become a symbolic and ritual object, disconnected from its original punitive function.
