Flagellation

Flagellation - also known as castigation - is the beating or whipping of the body with a whip, rope, or other instrument, usually as part of a ritual, religious, or erotic experience. Within BDSM, it refers to a controlled form of beating with the aim of physical stimulation, emotional release, or spiritual experience.
